The Communications and Publications sub programme produces informative and educational materials for visitors to The Gardens including clients and the general public. The educational material produced includes leaflets, posters, brochures, booklets, calendars, newsletters and a weekly radio programme for the Limbe Botanical and Zoological Gardens.
Current work in the publishing section of the Environmental Education and Training Programme is split into two main areas. The first is providing a series of Nature Interpretation boards that explain interesting features and plant collections of The Gardens. The set of boards now produced in this new format provide information on various features such as The Fern Garden, Palm Collection, Cameroonian Timber Walk and The Orchid Greenhouse.
The second area of work is on a series of publications about The Gardens. To date two publications have been produced - a booklet about the Non Timber Forest Products collection 'Non Timber Forest Products: a selection from the Limbe Botanic Garden', and a general guide book to The Gardens 'Limbe Botanic Garden'. The next publication will be about the birds of the Limbe Botanical and Zoological Gardens in sub programme 'Wildlife Assessment Services'.
In collaboration with the University of Wales Bangor, an educational material has been produced to sensitise the local population on the importance of Prunus africana. Productions include: Policy paper for Government of Cameroon, posters and leaflets.
