Introduction
The Socio-economic Assessment Sub-programme was created in 1996. The aim is to provide services and baseline socio-economic information to support better understanding of the underlying issues of and the relationship between livelihoods, forest conservation and use in the Mount Cameroon region and beyond.
This subprogramme has contributed towards establishment of participatory biodiversity conservation programmes in the forest zones of Mount Cameroon as well as in research activities. It offers expertise in qualitative and quantitative socio-economic assessment and holds substantial information on the Mount Cameroon region.
