Full-grown Ironwood

Cameroon is currently one of the leading exporters of Tropical timber in the Congo Basin. This collection contains some of the most expensive timber tree species currently being exported commercially.

Examples include

  • Moabi (Baillonella toxisperma)
  • Bubinga (Guibourtia tessmanni)
  • Wenge (Milletia laurentii)
  • Zebrawood (Microberlinia bisulcata)
  • Cam wood (Pterocarpus soyauxii)
  • Ironwood (Lophira alata)

Part of the collection forms The Cameroonian Timber Tree Walk, which bisect the central part of The Gardens. The rest of the collection is enriching the Jungle Village forest habitat.
