This avenue leads to the Jungle Village flanked with African Palmyra Palms (Borassus aethiopum), one of the most important palms in Cameroon.
The leaves are used for thatching houses, baskets and mats. The fruit can be eaten raw, or roasted, and the juice is rich in sugar.
Aethiopum is the only Borassus species in Africa, and it is particularly important in drier areas.
